He is a former professor of the University of Nevada School of Medicine and director of the University Women's Clinic, where he trained resident physicians in the specialty of Ob/Gyn from 2001 until 2008. He subsequently relocated to Orange County in 2008.
He is currently in private practice in Santa Ana, providing general Gynecology care, as well as directing Slim Medical, providing gynecology, cosmetic surgery, aesthetic medicine, and a regimented physician supervised medical weight loss program.
Through his years of teaching and medical practice, Dr. Nasseri encountered an ever-increasing number of obese patients that complicated the Obstetrical and Gynecological care of his patients. After first hand experience in dealing with the challenges that weight gain can have on a patient’s health and well being, Dr. Nasseri decided to further invest his efforts in treating the underlying condition that affected the overall health of his patients. By placing greater emphasis on weight loss and weight control, he has helped curb many of the medical complications of obesity in his patients.
Dr. Nasseri strives to provide the support, information, care, and medical program that can provide successful medical weight loss for his patients. It is the philosophy of Slim Medical to provide a non-judgemental and supportive environment for our patients, so that their goal of healthy weight loss can be fulfilled. Through successful weight loss, not only is health restored, but also confidence, improved self-image and a sense of well being. Improved self image and well being in itself can lead to better health, and the positive cycle can thereby feed the patient’s health as well as sense of well being.
In addition to medical weight loss, Dr Nasseri also offers abdominal cosmetic surgery to his patients. For some, weight loss alone is not enough to achieve the overall look that is desired. Some parts of the body - specifically the abdomen and flanks, can be quite resistant to reduction with diet alone. Furthermore, the extra skin that was stretched during a period of weight gain or pregnancy may not resolve spontaneously. Liposuction can be the aid that is needed for certain problem areas. Liposuction may be done by itself, or combined with abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) depending on the case. Minimally invasive abdominoplasty, also called Avelar abdominoplasty or abdominolipoplasty, combines liposuction with a tummy tuck which removes only the superficial skin, thereby lowering the complication risk.
